Mixed Mode
The WinCati Mixed Mode option turns WinCati into a single, integrated system for conducting CATI, Web and CATI/Web mixed-mode studies. It extends WinCati's power and versatility to the Web including CATI-like interviewing, sample management, quota control, disposition monitoring, and study tracking. In addition it has a built-in e-mail system for notifying online respondents, and provides online data tools, statistics, and two-way cross tabs.
WinCati's Mixed Mode option is designed to:
- Increase cooperation rates, especially among hard to reach respondents
- Provide a rigorous sampling frame for projecting Web-based results
- Lower interviewing costs
- Shorten study times
You can use the Mixed Mode option, for example, in studies where you recruit respondents by phone and let them choose whether to complete the interview by phone or online. For respondents who choose to complete the interview online, Mixed Mode can automatically send them e-mail invitations, reminders, and thank you messages, based on the interview status. Mixed Mode can also automatically direct interviews terminated online back to interviewers as callbacks so that they can be completed by phone.
The Mixed Mode option also lets you conduct pure Web interviewing ranging from simple surveys to studies that require complex questionnaire designs, quota controls and respondent tracking. You can include information from e-mail mailing lists as part of the questionnaire and update respondent information based on interview results. You can also use the Mixed Mode option to field studies that incorporate Sawtooth Software's ACA/Web and CBC/Web interviewing modules.
In short, with the Mixed Mode option, WinCati is the only system you need for CATI and Web interviewing.

Predictive Dialing
Predictive dialing is most effective in studies with short interviews and a low incidence of respondent qualification, such as product usage, however significant productivity gains can be achieved on almost all types of projects. Predictive dialing can result in 33-75% productivity gains.
Predictive dialing dials more than one line per interviewer. The goal of the predictive dialer is to always have a respondent available for an interviewer to interview. The predictive dialer dials the numbers automatically and the interviewer does not see respondent history or contact information. The predictive dialer automatically records dispositions for any call that does not result in an interview, such as no answers, busys, and answering machines.
WinCati works with the Marketing Systems Group's PRO-T-S predictive dialer. This dialer was designed specifically for survey research applications. It automatically adjusts the pace of dialing based on the outcome of each call attempt, lets you control the call abandonment rate and does not produce a pause/click when respondents receive the calls. In addition to rapidly dialing numbers, the PRO-T-S dialer has been integrated with WinCati to observe all of the WinCati rules you set up for controlling the release of sample.
You can purchase the WinCati Predictive Dialing option for as many interviewing stations as you need and can run studies that use a mix of predictive dialing and non-predictive dialing stations.

Voice Capture/Sound Play
WinCati offers voice capture and sound play capabilities to record open ends and to include sound bytes within a telephone interview
WinCati's voice capture capability lets you digitally record parts of your interview. Voice-captured open-end responses reinforce your analysis, motivating and persuading your clients to action. Your clients are affected as much by how respondents express themselves as they are by what respondents say.
Voice capture can result in more accurate analysis as well. The ability to consider emotion and intonation when interpreting open?end responses can lead to insights that could otherwise be missed in reading transcriptions. And, voice capture makes interviewers' tasks easier, since they can concentrate on what respondents are saying, rather than on recording the responses.
WinCati's sound play capability lets you play sound files as part of a telephone interview giving you the power to conduct a wider range of research. For example, you can ask respondents about commercial jingles or music recordings as part of a CATI interview. And, sound play is easy for interviewers because sound files are played as a natural part of the questionnaire.
