Ci3 CATI for Windows
Interview Administration is Simpler and More Productive
Ci3 CATI for Windows simplifies interview administration and greatly reduces supervisor involvement. Because interviewing is streamlined, Ci3 CATI for Windows saves you money by significantly increasing your dialing rates.
With Ci3 CATI for Windows, you assign interviewers to a study as part of study setup rather than at the start of each interviewing shift. Using a master list of interviewers (see figure below) that contains each interviewer's name, identification number, and any interviewing properties (such as Spanish-speaking or refusal converter), you specify which interviewers are to be given access to that study.

Interviewer log on is similar to the process used in Ci3 CATI for DOS: when the log-on screen appears, the interviewer enters his or her ID and station number. Then, a list of studies accessible to that interviewer appears and the interviewer selects the appropriate study to log on to. Within seconds of logging on, the first call record (see figure below)- including any Callbacks or definite appointments - appears.

If you have assigned specific sample to specific interviewers, the sample manager checks that the interviewer has the correct properties to attempt the call. Interviewers have three options at this point:
- Accept the call record displayed
- Display a list of alternative records and select a different record
- Search the sample database for a specific record
Ci3 CATI for Windows lets interviewers view complete information for a call record including contact information, the call history, and any interviewer or supervisor notes.
Interviews are conducted by reading questions and entering responses using the keyboard or mouse - minimal training is required. Results are stored for each attempt when the attempt is terminated. After each attempt, interviewers can continue with the next interview, log off, or switch to another study (see figure below).

If the interviewer continues interviewing, the next call record is displayed. To switch to another study, the interviewer simply selects from the list of accessible studies and continues interviewing within seconds.
With these improvements:
- There are no delays between shifts while interviewer assignments are changed
- Interviewers always get all of their Callbacks at the start of a shift, or immediately after their breaks, even if they log off
- Interviewers can attempt more calls per hour
- Studies don't go over quota except where an interview is in progress at the time a quota cell is closed
